Barnes Fitness is an independent sports event management consultancy owned and managed by us, wife and husband team Ellie and Ian Gosling.
The company was formed when Ellie wasn't married to Ian, and her surname was Barnes - we don't live in Barnes!!! Ellie started in the fitness industry in 2010 (after a coporate career as an Executive Personal Assistant) as a Personal Trainer, Spinning Insturctor and Sports Massage Therapist before organising a "one-off" 5km fundraising event to get to help raise funds to get to the World Triathlon Age Group Championships in Auckland in 2012.... This is when the Events side of the company was born!
We’ve both always led active lives and we’re passionate about sharing our enjoyment of sport, fitness and the outdoors with others.
Running first brought us together — we met as members of Reading Roadrunners in 2008 and since then we’ve both enjoyed training and competing at various events around the world. We have three active children; Max (born in 2014) and Hannah and Freya (twins born in 2015) who are often seen at our events taking part or helping!
